Job Summary
About Nabhdrishti Aerospace
Nabhdrishti Aerospace is a deep-tech aerospace company developing indigenous micro gas turbine engines and propulsion systems for aviation and defence applications. We are building complex, high-performance products from the ground up, with a mission to create globally competitive aerospace propulsion technology from India.
As we move from product development and testing toward commercialization, industrialization, and scaling our product line, we are looking for a high-ownership individual and a team-player to work across some of the company’s most important priorities.
Job Role
The Instrumentation & Data Acquisition Engineer will be responsible for the development, integration and operation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems for testing and characterization of engineering systems.
The candidate will work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls and test engineers to define instrumentation requirements, configure sensors and signal-conditioning systems, develop data acquisition and test setups, and analyse experimental data. The role will involve significant hands-on work with LabVIEW, NI hardware and data acquisition systems, along with development of data processing and analysis workflows.
A strong understanding of measurement systems, sensors, signal conditioning, data acquisition and experimental methods is expected. Exposure to embedded real-time systems and control-system development will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and integrate instrumentation and data acquisition systems for laboratory, subsystem and system-level testing.
Define instrumentation requirements and select, configure and integrate sensors, signal conditioning and DAQ systems for pressure, temperature, speed, vibration, force, flow, voltage and current measurements
Develop LabVIEW-based data acquisition, monitoring and test applications.
Configure and work hands-on with National Instruments (NI) DAQ hardware, CompactDAQ, CompactRIO and related measurement systems.
Perform sensor calibration, validation and verification of measurement systems.
Configure analogue and digital acquisition channels, counters, timers and other DAQ resources as required.
Conduct experiments according to given test protocols and then perform data processing and analysis of experimental data using appropriate engineering tools.
Develop data-processing workflows for filtering, synchronisation, signal processing and time/frequency-domain analysis of acquired data.
Analyse and correlate test data to identify trends, anomalies and system performance.
Support development of LabView based test rigs, instrumentation panels, DAQ systems and laboratory test facilities.
Troubleshoot sensor, wiring, signal-conditioning, DAQ and software-related issues during testing.
Work closely with controls, embedded, electronics, mechanical and test engineers during system integration.
Participate in test planning, instrumentation planning and technical design reviews.
Prepare instrumentation specifications, channel lists, wiring/interface documentation, test procedures and test reports.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Strong fundamentals in instrumentation, measurement systems and data acquisition.
Hands-on experience with LabVIEW for data acquisition, instrumentation, monitoring or test automation.
Practical experience with NI data acquisition hardware and systems.
Understanding of analogue and digital signal acquisition and signal conditioning.
Understanding of measurement parameters such as accuracy, resolution, sampling rate, bandwidth, noise and sensor calibration.
Experience with experimental data processing, analysis and interpretation including signal processing techniques like FFT etc.
Ability to troubleshoot problems across sensors, wiring, signal conditioning, DAQ hardware and software.
Ability to develop structured test procedures and analyse test results.
Good to Have
Experience with NI CompactDAQ (cDAQ), CompactRIO (cRIO), PXI/PXIe or similar real-time data acquisition systems.
Experience with NI-DAQmx, LabVIEW Real-Time and/or FPGA-based acquisition systems.
Experience with vibration and dynamic measurements, including accelerometers and tachometers.
Understanding of high-speed data acquisition and synchronisation of multiple measurement channels.
Experience with Python, MATLAB or similar tools for data processing and analysis.
Understanding of embedded real-time systems and microcontroller-based systems.
Understanding of communication interfaces such as CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, RS-232/RS-485 and Ethernet.
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), real-time test systems or test-bench development.
Experience in aerospace, automotive, gas turbine, propulsion, mechanical systems or other complex engineering test environments.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with relevant project experience.
Bachelor's or master's degree in: Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Typical Experience
0–5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, data acquisition, test engineering, experimental testing, LabVIEW development or related engineering fields.
