Job Summary
About Nabhdrishti Aerospace
Nabhdrishti Aerospace is a deep-tech aerospace company developing indigenous micro gas turbine engines and propulsion systems for aviation and defence applications. We are building complex, high-performance products from the ground up, with a mission to create globally competitive aerospace propulsion technology from India.
As we move from product development and testing toward commercialization, industrialization, and scaling our product line, we are looking for a high-ownership individual and a team-player to work across some of the company’s most important priorities.
Job Role
The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing mathematical models, simulations and control strategies for complex dynamic systems. The role will involve control-loop design, system modelling, simulation, analysis and validation using MATLAB/Simulink and related engineering tools.
The candidate should have a strong foundation in control systems and experience in applying control engineering principles to automotive, aerospace, mechatronics or other dynamic systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop high fidelity mathematical and dynamic models of complex physical systems including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other physical systems.
Design, development, tuning and analysis of control-system models and control loops using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
Perform system-level simulations to evaluate stability, transient response and performance.
Develop control algorithms and associated control strategies based on system requirements.
Perform linear and nonlinear system analysis and control-system performance assessment.
Develop simulation scenarios based on Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
Support development of control-system architectures and functional specifications.
Work closely with system, mechanical, hydraulic, instrumentation and software engineers during system development.
Analyse test data and use the results to refine system models and control algorithms.
Develop technical documentation covering modelling assumptions, control strategies, simulation methodology and results.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Strong fundamentals in control systems modelling and simulation.
Experience in control-loop design, tuning and analysis.
Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience in developing mathematical models of dynamic systems.
Understanding of feedback control, PID control, transfer functions, state-space modelling and system dynamics.
Good to Have
Understanding of aircraft systems, aircraft dynamics, hydraulic systems and hydraulic actuation.
Understanding of gas turbine engines and their operating characteristics.
Experience in modelling mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Experience with Simscape/Simscape Fluids or similar physical-system modelling tools.
Understanding of real-time simulation or Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation.
Experience with control-system development in automotive, aerospace, mechatronics, mechanical systems or a similar control-engineering domain.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree with relevant project experience.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Typical Experience
0–5 years of relevant experience in control-system modelling, simulation and control-loop development.
Candidates with strong hands-on MATLAB/Simulink and control-system development experience from the automotive, aerospace, mechatronics or industrial systems domain will be preferred.
